Help save Hawaii’s fleeting history.

Mahalo for contributing.

  • There is great natural and individual wealth in Hawaii

Can you help connect high net worth individuals with Hawaii historical preservationists? Are you someone of substantial wealth who can help? You will be shocked how much good can be done with so little contribution.

  • The islands can be punishing for history

Our plantation-era buildings, homes, institutions and gathering places are no match for Hawaii’s ruggedness, salty air and jungle appetite. We are in a moment in time that much of what made Hawaii special is slipping away.

  • Kupuna are our precious natural resource

A generation of our seniors and their stories are on the brink of being lost. These are Hawaii’s ways, customs and living history. It’s a sensitive time. Can you help save history in our community at this fragile moment in time?

  • Time is of the essence for Hawaii's history

Our cherished places are crumbling, kupuna are leaving us, memories are fading, but the spirit of Hawaii is more special an important than ever. Note this precious time in Hawaii’s history.

Saving our history preserves Hawaii’s unique character and provides a link to the roots of our community and its people.

When I sit with the good folks of my local historical society they are busy intaking, recording, referencing, tagging, and scanning historical documents. What is surprising is how a little support can do so much great for these good people. Sometimes it is the littlest things. They will put $25 dollars to use in the most practical ways with daily essentials, and office supply. They need minor equipment like computers, cameras, lightstands and small funds to keep the lights on and IT guys paid. You would be shocked how relatively small contribution can make a huge impact. A donation of $2000 can get them out of the stone-age of laborious document scanning by helping fund a quality digital camera and stand. A server is only $3000 would bring them into the digital age prepared to inform, inspire and be a resource for future generations. Seniors. Former librarians. Archivists. Administrators. Enthusiasts are doing this work from their heart and with purpose. They need our help. Hawaii is rich with natural and spiritual resources but is also is a place of great individual wealth. Please help connect preservationists with people that can help.

Spread the word to help support your local Historical Society. Talk story. Make art. Celebrate Hawaii’s beautiful, interesting, and important history. Or not.

-Aloha

Cmon, we can help.
